Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better known as Ari Lennox, is an American singer and musician who hails from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to join J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. In October of 2016 Ari Lennox debuted her EP Pho. This was the moment that she was recognized. Shea Butter Baby her debut album was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox first uploaded songs online in the year 2012. Her debut album Ariography and debut mixtape in 2013 Five Finger Discount. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox release her own single Bound, as well as her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. The 21st of July, 2015 was the day she appeared on Omen's album Elephant Eyes on the track Sweat It Out. In the following year, her music circulated all over the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to join him in creating some references for Rihanna. The official signing ceremony was held with Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat is a song that was written by her and Cozz on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II. In the month of October, she released her first EP, Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017 in which she was supported by EarthGang. In 2018, she went on to be a guest on two of her songs along with labelmates EarthGang in Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first song Whipped Cream from Shea Butter Baby on July 16. A music clip was followed by a video in September. Then on November 9 the singer released two new singles, forty Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. In November 13, she came out with two additional singles, The No One or Pedigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole on the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On November 16and later she released the song as a single by herself for her debut album. The song, launched with a music video on YouTube 20 February 2019 has been watched over three million times over the first seven days. In December 2018 she performed on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
